چکیده

In this paper, we propose an algorithm to calculate the higher moments of the busy period length of a discretetime M/G/1 type queue with finite buffer. The queueing model has a level-dependent transition probability matrix. Our algorithm is given as a set of recursive formulas which are derived from the relationship among the generating function matrices of the fundamental period. As an example of our algorithm, we provide an approximate analysis of a HOL (Head Of Line) priority control queue. key words: Discrete-time M/G/1 type queue, Busy period, Mo-

M M m K Queue With Additional Servers and Discouragement (RESEARCH NOTE)

Waiting in long queue is undesirable due to which in some practical situations customers become impatient and leave the system. In such cases providing additional servers can reduce long queue. This investigation deals with multi-server queueing system with additional servers and discouragement. The customers arrive in poisson fashion and are served exponentially by a pool of permanent and addi...

ANALYSIS OF A DISCRETE-TIME IMPATIENT CUSTOMER QUEUE WITH BERNOULLI-SCHEDULE VACATION INTERRUPTION

This paper investigates a discrete-time impatient customer queue with Bernoulli-schedule vacation interruption. The  vacation times and the service times during regular busy period and during working vacation period are assumed to follow geometric distribution. We obtain the steady-state probabilities at arbitrary and outside observer's observation epochs using recursive technique. Cost analysi...

Discrete Time Analysis of Multi-Server Queueing System with Multiple Working Vacations and Reneging of Customers‎

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...

Analysis of the discrete-time Geo/G/1 working vacation queue and its application to network scheduling

In this paper we present an exact steady-state analysis of a discrete-time Geo/G/1 queueing system with working vacations, where the server can keep on working, but at a slower speed during the vacation period. The transition probability matrix describing this queuing model can be seen as an M/G/1-type matrix form. This allows us to derive the probability generating function (PGF) of the statio...

Multi-dimensional Transform Inversion with Applications to the Transient M/g/1 Queue

We develop an algorithm for numerically inverting multi-dimensional transforms. Our algorithm applies to any number of continuous variables (Laplace transforms) and discrete variables (generating functions). We use the Fourier-series method; i.e., the inversion formula is the Fourier series of a periodic function constructed by aliasing. This amounts to an application of the Poisson summation f...
